Laser cut mother of pearl
Laser cut mother of pearl can be made from white mother of pearl, black mother of pearl, or patterns. It's a new way to enjoy what mother of pearl naturally has to offer.
MOP is natural and organic
Mother-of-pearl is a special material to cut by laser because it is completely natural.
This makes some problems when processing it since the parameters used to engrave or cut wont give the same results depending from one to another MOP. A second problem is its low mechanical and thermal resistance. A too high temperature and the beautiful mother-of-pearl becomes yellowed or even blackened by the laser. This is why we have worked at length on the possibility of finding parameters to engrave and cut the patterns into the surface of the material, leaving the natural color and texture of the MOP intact. The patterns are cut into the top of the MOP, and the laser leaves the underside natural. It takes time and care to cut the patterns, but it's worth it. Our experience allows us today to make mother-of-pearl cuts as fine as a hair, allowing watchmakers to give free rein to their imagination.
